3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 t. salt
1 1/2 t pure vanilla extract
1 large egg yolk
2 c all purpose flour
- Beat the butter, sugar, salt and vanilla together until smooth & creamy
- Mix in the egg yolk until well incorporated, scraping down the side of bowl
- Add the flour and mix just until incorporated
- Scrape onto lightly floured board and knead a few times, just until dough smooths out
- Turn onto a sheet of plastic wrap and chill
- Before baking, preheat the oven to 325
- Roll the dough out to about 1/8" thick, cut shapes and place on parchment lined baking sheet
- Bake until edges are just beginning to turn golden, about 16-18 minutes
